Small footprint, deep roots — the compact planter box that grows fruit trees and spuds.
Light and genuinely movable at this compact size, it’s easy to lift to a sunnier spot as the seasons change — or add a set of wheels to make it fully portable.
At 81 cm long it tucks onto a balcony, patio or that odd corner beside the shed — but choose the 41 cm deep tub and there’s serious root room down there: customers use this one as a dwarf fruit tree planter and a dedicated potato box.
Knee-high at 50 cm, so planting and harvesting happen without kneeling, and the whole box stays low enough to sit neatly under windows and balcony rails.
Potting mix goes straight into the recycled plastic tub — plant the same day while the timber stays dry underneath.
Made in Queensland, delivered assembled across SEQ. Pick your depth above — deeper for trees and spuds, shallower for herbs and flowers.

What do I fill it with?
Quality potting mix straight into the tub. No base layers or crushed rock needed. Capacity: 23cm Depth = 55 litres, 35cm Depth = 110 litres, 41cm Depth 135 litres. In our SEQ delivery area we can even deliver it filled and ready to plant: add the Potting Mix Fill service. Full step-by-step: how to fill your raised garden bed.
How deep should your garden bed be?
23 cm is the budget pick, ideal for herbs, flowers, lettuce and other shallow-rooted plants (it dries out quickest, so it likes part shade or regular watering). 35 cm is the sweet spot most customers choose: it handles tomatoes, capsicums and most veggies while holding moisture well. 41 cm suits root veg like carrots and potatoes, plus potted citrus. It holds moisture best and is the heaviest when full.
Can I move it once it’s set up?
Empty, it’s an easy two-person lift. If you’ll want to chase the sun through the seasons, the wheels version rolls on braked castors: switch to it under “Choose a variation” above.
Will my deck or balcony get wet underneath?
The tub has drainage holes in the base, so water drains out underneath. On a deck or balcony, add the Drainage Capture kit: it channels overflow away or straight into a watering can.
Will the timber rot or attract termites?
It’s arsenic-free MCA treated hoop pine, built to resist both. If it’s going on grass or bare ground, we recommend a paver or our protective feet under each leg to break the moisture and termite highway. Full guide: Care & Maintenance.
How often will I need to water?
Shallower tubs (23 cm) dry out faster in full sun; 35–41 cm hold moisture longer. The drip watering kit with timer makes it set-and-forget.
