The Timber Advantage: Sustainable, Smart, and Customisable
One of the greatest benefits of a Corrogarden bed isn't just its natural beauty—it’s the incredible versatility of the timber itself. Built using locally sourced, sustainable Australian pine, your garden bed is designed to work in harmony with the environment, rather than against it.
Beyond aesthetics, timber is a phenomenal natural insulator. During the peak of an Australian summer, the thick timber edges stay cool to the touch, preventing the sun from baking your soil and protecting delicate root systems from heat stress. In the cooler months, it holds the warmth in. It also never rusts, degrades, or requires heavy maintenance, ensuring your garden space remains pristine year after year.
Most importantly, timber is the ultimate blank canvas. Because it is naturally workable yet incredibly robust, you don't need specialised tools or equipment to modify it. Just grab a standard drill, a few screws, and your imagination to expand your growing space or tailor the bed exactly to your needs.
Get Inspired: Creative Customer Ideas
We absolutely love seeing how creative our community gets with their setups! Because you can easily screw directly into the sturdy pine frame, the modification possibilities are endless. Over on our Gallery & Reviews page, we've seen customers transform their gardens with some brilliant DIY projects. Here are a few ideas to spark your creativity:
Magical Garden Illusions: One of our absolute favourite customer projects involved securing outdoor-safe archway mirrors directly to the timber trellis. It beautifully reflected the foliage, bounced sunlight into darker corners, and instantly made their courtyard feel twice as big!
Handy Tool Storage: Keep your essentials exactly where you need them. By adding a few simple cup hooks or brackets to the outside of the frame, you can hang your trowels, secateurs, and gardening gloves within arm's reach.
Built-in Irrigation & Netting Hoops: Forget struggling with loose pipes. Customers have easily attached standard pipe clips along the timber edges to seamlessly run drip-line irrigation. Others have screwed brackets to the outside corners to hold flexible poly-pipe hoops—perfect for throwing over bird netting or shade cloth on hot days.
Custom Trellises & Climbing Frames: While we sell our own add-on trellises, many gardeners love screwing custom wire mesh, wooden lattice, or tension wire straight into the back of the timber frame to support heavy-climbing veggies like tomatoes, beans, and passionfruit.
Side Shelves & Pot Stands: A few screws and a small offcut of wood are all it takes to add a mini side-shelf. It’s the perfect spot to rest your coffee cup, phone, or seed packets while you work in the dirt.
Custom Paint Jobs: From sleek modern charcoal to blend into an architectural patio, to bright, fun colours for the kids' veggie patch, painting or staining the timber is an easy weekend project that perfectly integrates your garden bed into your existing landscape design.

Love my new garden bed. It's only been 5 weeks and already I have peas and beans growing up the trellis, lettuce which we already have eaten some lovely fresh lettuce from, and the carrot seeds I'd planted have started to sprout. I even have potatoes growing on one side. I especilly love having this garden bed at waist height and not having to bend down. I'll certainly be getting a 2nd one soon.
I bought four, and I’m super happy with them. They arrived much quicker than I thought they would, and they were all packaged carefully by someone who obviously cared a lot about their product. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, I had help from my dad and we put all four together in one afternoon. I bought them with the drainage capture, which was really cleverly designed, and they look beautiful. I’m very happy with it all and I can’t wait to fill them with my own little garden!
Loads of research of other brands before deciding on these. Matt was very helpful over the phone and within
around 2weeks delivered and set-up these fantastic beds with potting mix, casters, drainage. Really solid units and excellent service. Now the first planting of our kitchen herb garden is complete, at the ideal height and we will be able to easily move them to catch the sun or shade as needed. Perfect!!
I get such joy from harvesting my own fresh herbs. These planter boxes are great and not that hard to put together.
I have several friends interested now.
From my very first contact with Matt, I felt genuinely supported and guided throughout the process. He thoughtfully sent me a video explaining how to set up the Corrogan raised beds as self-wicking garden beds, which made a big difference in helping me feel confident about the installation.
It took me a few hours to assemble the four beds. I did need to drill the holes slightly larger for the self-tapping screws, possibly my drill wasn’t powerful enough to drive them in fully but once I did that, everything came together smoothly.
The beds are sturdy, well-designed, and look fabulous. I’m absolutely delighted with them.
For the self-wicking setup, I followed most of the steps in the video, with one small change: I used river sand instead of mulch in the reservoir to help maintain its integrity as a water storage container.
Overall, I’m very happy with both the product and the service. Highly recommend!
Excellent quality product and such a wonderful purchasing experience!
Matt was super helpful when we needed five garden beds delivered by a specific day for a corporate volunteering project at our service for people with disability. He provided extra info, tips and his mobile number which we could call any time on the day if we had any questions.
The garden beds are great quality, we wouldn't hesitate to order more for a similar project.
Thank you Corrogarden for providing the kind of product and service that is so rare these days!
I love my raised garden beds! They are just what I was hoping for. It was so nice to come home and have them all set up ready to plant,
Matt gave some great advice regarding what to plant.
I’ve attached some pics of what I’ve done so far.
Thanks Matt.
Five Stars ***** I couldn't be happier, prompt delivery, top quality product, and now I am the envy of many. I have so much growing and so happy with my new vegetable patch.
I have recommended to so many of my friends.
Thank you :) Judy
Corrogarden's raised planter beds have added substantially to the look and feel of our corporate office. They're on castor wheels too, which allows us to swap and change and relocate the 10x beds we purchased to create new spaces and maintain visual privacy with our plants in a great looking planter.
Great service and amazing quality and workmanship. I’ve only just got the 2 but I am excited about my gardening experience ahead. The drainage system is a great addition have reused the drained water 2 days running and it still filled the watering cans over half.
If you’re wanting a home fruit veg and herb garden definitely buy one or two or more…… worth the investment.
Amazingly impressed with Garden Bed.. Actually I was looking for something exactly like this Garden-bed in my backyard. Looks really nice and really strong built. Thanks to Matt he was really helpful, friendly throughout the processing order, delivery. And honestly I really love to support small local business.
Matt is so easy to work with, and we're equally delighted with the quality of the Corrogarden planters and how with our indoor plants they really enhanced the vibrancy of our new corporate office. We are so happy that we are looking at purchasing another couple of the same Corrogarden planters to establish herb gardens on our office kitchen balcony!
Our teachers and students love the new raised garden beds. We have planted many herbs and veggies as well as some edible plants. These will also be used by our hospitality team to make delicious, fresh meals.
Early days but so far so good.
Painted for long term protection but also love the look.
My clever husband has adapted a frame to cover ( we’ve had lots of rain) and a simple drainage system to collect drainage( on cement)
Would prefer all wheels to turn as chasing the sun I’m needing to do multiple back/forwards moves and these things are heavy once filled.
Fantastic gardens and Matt was Brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble despite me wanting some custom options and to install them on a slope. I love them and highly recommend.
I love the Corrogarden planters! They are so well made and a really clever design. They look great on my garden and have allowed me to make a productive patch in my small inner city garden, out of reach of my dog. I love they are made of ACQ pine and Matt was so extremely helpful with my questions throughout the purchasing and delivery process process. Highly recommend :)
