Pick the Wide (157 x 110 cm, two tubs side by side) or the Large (157 x 60 cm, one full-length tub), at 80 cm planting height (a waist-high raised garden bed) or 50 cm (a knee-high planter box). On every one, all four legs run up in one piece to a timber top rail 1.6 m off the ground. That leaves about 80 cm of clear headroom above an 80 cm bed and about 110 cm above a 50 cm planter box. On the Wide, a centre rail runs down the middle of the top so a net stays up off your plants and strings have an anchor over both tubs.
It comes as the frame, with nothing on it, so you only pay for the cover you want. Because it is all timber, staples, screws, hooks, sail track and zip ties work anywhere on it. A covered raised garden bed, done your way.
What can I use the frame for?
- Throw a net over it to keep birds and bats off your crop
- Staple fly screen or insect mesh to the sides
- Screw wire mesh panels into the bays
- Shade cloth for the summer heat
- Greenhouse film or frost cloth when it turns cold

Will a standard roll of mesh or cloth fit?
Yes. Each side is one flat face: the top rail and the board sit flush, framed by the legs. The long sides are 1320 mm between the legs, and the ends are 1100 mm on the Wide and 598 mm on the Large. The roll you need depends on the planting height:
- 80 cm raised garden bed: a 900 mm roll. Hung from the top of the rail, it covers the 700 mm opening with 100 mm on the rail and 100 mm on the board.
- 50 cm planter box: a 1200 mm roll, covering the 1000 mm opening the same way.
Either way there is solid timber to fix into at the top and the bottom, and an 1800 x 1200 mm reo sheet cuts down to fit a side.
How much room is there for plants to grow?

A wildlife-safe one: white, knitted, with holes 5 mm or smaller when stretched. It keeps birds and bats off your fruit without trapping them. It is the rule in Victoria and good practice everywhere. To reach the top of the bed on every side, allow a net of at least about:
- Wide, 80 cm: 3.2 x 2.7 m
- Wide, 50 cm: 3.8 x 3.3 m
- Large, 80 cm: 3.2 x 2.2 m
- Large, 50 cm: 3.8 x 2.8 m
Go bigger if you would like some to tuck under. Keeping possums out takes wire mesh fixed to every side and the top rather than a net, and the frame is built to take it.

What do I fill it with?
Quality potting mix straight into the tub — no base layers or crushed rock needed. Full step-by-step: how to fill your raised garden bed.
How deep should your garden bed be?
23 cm is the budget pick — ideal for herbs, flowers, lettuce and other shallow-rooted plants (it dries out quickest, so it likes part shade or regular watering). 35 cm is the sweet spot most customers choose — handles tomatoes, capsicums and most veggies while holding moisture well. 41 cm suits root veg like carrots and potatoes, plus potted citrus — best moisture retention, heaviest when full.
Can I move it once it’s set up?
Empty, it’s an easy two-person lift. If you’ll want to chase the sun through the seasons, the wheels version rolls on braked castors — switch to it under “Choose a variation” above.
Will my deck or balcony get wet underneath?
The tub drains through 12 mm holes at every corrugation. On a deck or balcony, add the Drainage Capture kit — it channels overflow away or straight into a watering can.
Will the timber rot or attract termites?

How often will I need to water?
Shallower tubs (23 cm) dry out faster in full sun; 35–41 cm hold moisture longer. The drip watering kit with timer makes it set-and-forget.
How hard is the assembly?
