A waist-high garden that doubles as a living screen.
And because it stands on legs rather than sitting in the ground, it’s never a permanent fixture — reposition it as your garden changes, or add a set of wheels to make it fully portable.
All the comfort of our 80 cm no-bend bed, plus a heavy-duty steel trellis overhead: grow beans, cucumbers and tomatoes upward and you get privacy, filtered light and shade thrown in free. It’s the productive way to soften a fence, screen the neighbours or shelter a seating area.
The 157 cm bed gives your climbers a wide wall to fill, with the front row left for herbs and salad greens at easy picking height. The pot shelf keeps seedlings and next season’s plans close at hand.
Inside, the recycled plastic tub takes potting mix directly — same-day planting, dry timber, long life.
Made in Queensland and delivered assembled across SEQ. Pick a tub depth above and put your fence to work.
Growing mesh trellis or privacy screen?
The growing mesh is the climber’s trellis — a galvanised grid with a pot shelf on top, made for beans, peas and passionfruit. The privacy screen is built for screening, not climbing: timber slats form a solid back that turns the bed into a living privacy screen for a fence line, a neighbour’s window or an outdoor room. At 1.6m the slats sit at standing eye level — you see out, they don’t see in. No pot shelf on the screen; the slats run right to the top.
Privacy screen beds are delivered assembled, locally only — the screen is built onto the bed in our Lawnton workshop, so it isn’t available as a flat-pack kit.

What do I fill it with?
Quality potting mix straight into the tub. No base layers or crushed rock needed. Capacity: 23cm Depth = 110 litres, 35cm Depth = 220 litres, 41cm Depth 270 litres. In our SEQ delivery area we can even deliver it filled and ready to plant: add the Potting Mix Fill service. Full step-by-step: how to fill your raised garden bed.
How deep should your garden bed be?
23 cm is the budget pick, ideal for herbs, flowers, lettuce and other shallow-rooted plants (it dries out quickest, so it likes part shade or regular watering). 35 cm is the sweet spot most customers choose: it handles tomatoes, capsicums and most veggies while holding moisture well. 41 cm suits root veg like carrots and potatoes, plus potted citrus. It holds moisture best and is the heaviest when full.
Can I move it once it’s set up?
Empty, it’s an easy two-person lift. If you’ll want to chase the sun through the seasons, the wheels version rolls on braked castors: switch to it under “Choose a variation” above.
Will my deck or balcony get wet underneath?
The tub has drainage holes in the base, so water drains out underneath. On a deck or balcony, add the Drainage Capture kit: it channels overflow away or straight into a watering can.
Will the timber rot or attract termites?
It’s arsenic-free MCA treated hoop pine, built to resist both. If it’s going on grass or bare ground, we recommend a paver or our protective feet under each leg to break the moisture and termite highway. Full guide: Care & Maintenance.
How often will I need to water?
Shallower tubs (23 cm) dry out faster in full sun; 35–41 cm hold moisture longer. The drip watering kit with timer makes it set-and-forget.
