Feast Watson Traditional Timber Oil is our recommended optional sealant to keep your Corrogarden timber product looking new and to extend its life.
Penetrating mineral oil is our go-to over water based oils, paints or varnish because it soaks into the timber rather than sitting on top. That means no peeling, no cracking, and no film to sand back when it's time to recoat. It just keeps the wood looking and performing like new.
Our timber is hoop pine — a beautiful, tight-grained Australian softwood that takes oil exceptionally well. A couple of coats of Feast Watson will deepen the grain, bring out the natural warmth of the timber, and lock out moisture that would otherwise cause swelling, splitting, and greying over time. Done right, it can add years of life to your bench or shelf.
Each Corrogarden bed or potting bench typically needs around 1 litre for 2 coats — enough to properly protect the timber without over-applying. We recommend a light sand between coats for the best finish.
Three colours:
- Natural — Traditional Timber Oil. Clear, so it just wets the grain and brings up the honey tone of the hoop pine.
- Merbau — Traditional Timber Oil. A rich reddish-brown.
- Grey Mountain Ash — Timber & Deck Stain. A cooler, weathered grey-brown. This one comes from Feast Watson's stain range rather than the oil, so it carries more colour.
All three are UV resistant and suitable for outdoor use.
Available in-store at our workshop or delivered locally.
