A wide timber raised garden bed on legs, 157 cm long and 110 cm wide, with the planting surface at 80 cm. That's waist height, and with two tubs side by side you can work the whole bed standing up.
We build it in our Lawnton workshop and deliver it assembled across South East Queensland, ready to fill.
Why a wide raised garden bed?
It has two tubs side by side where our large bed has one. Stand it clear of a wall and you can reach it from every side. Run two crops at once, with tomatoes in one tub and salads in the other, or fill both the same and grow one big patch.
Which tub depth should I pick?
23 cm for herbs and salad greens, 35 cm for tomatoes and most veggies, 41 cm for carrots and other root crops. Each depth gives you two tubs. Wheels are available on the 23 cm depth only, because the deeper tubs get too heavy to roll safely. The braked castors roll best on hard, flat ground.
The frame is arsenic-free MCA treated hoop pine, and recycled plastic tubs hold the potting mix and the water so the timber stays dry. Want it knee-high? See the wide planter box at 50 cm. Want one tub instead of two? The large raised garden bed on legs is 157 x 60 cm.

What do I fill it with?
Quality potting mix straight into the tub. No base layers or crushed rock needed. Capacity: 23cm Depth = 2x110 litres, 35cm Depth = 2x220 litres, 41cm Depth 2x270 litres. In our SEQ delivery area we can even deliver it filled and ready to plant: add the Potting Mix Fill service. Full step-by-step: how to fill your raised garden bed.
How deep should your garden bed be?
23 cm is the budget pick, ideal for herbs, flowers, lettuce and other shallow-rooted plants (it dries out quickest, so it likes part shade or regular watering). 35 cm is the sweet spot most customers choose: it handles tomatoes, capsicums and most veggies while holding moisture well. 41 cm suits root veg like carrots and potatoes, plus potted citrus. It holds moisture best and is the heaviest when full.
Can I move it once it’s set up?
Yes. It rolls on heavy-duty outdoor castors (280 kg combined capacity, 400 kg on the 41 cm-deep LARGE): one fixed pair, one 360° swivel pair with brakes. Best on hard, flat surfaces like decks, pavers and concrete.
Will my deck or balcony get wet underneath?
The tub has drainage holes in the base, so water drains out underneath. On a deck or balcony, add the Drainage Capture kit: it channels overflow away or straight into a watering can.
Will the timber rot or attract termites?
It’s arsenic-free MCA treated hoop pine, built to resist both. If it’s going on grass or bare ground, we recommend a paver or our protective feet under each leg to break the moisture and termite highway. Full guide: Care & Maintenance.
How often will I need to water?
Shallower tubs (23 cm) dry out faster in full sun; 35–41 cm hold moisture longer. The drip watering kit with timer makes it set-and-forget.
