A large timber planter box on wheels, 157 cm long and 60 cm wide, with the planting surface at 50 cm, about knee height. Roll it out as a border around the patio, along a path or up against a fence, then move it somewhere better next season.
We build it in our Lawnton workshop and deliver it assembled across South East Queensland, ready to fill.
How does a planter box on wheels move?
On four braked castors: two fixed and two that swivel. They roll best on hard, flat ground like decks, pavers and concrete. A full box is heavy, so move it slowly and put the brakes on when it's parked.
What can I grow in it?
A hedge line, or a mix of herbs and veggies. Pick the tub depth to suit: 23 cm for herbs and salad greens, 35 cm for most veggies, 41 cm for carrots and other root crops. The 33 cm slatted option swaps the tub for a flat timber slat base, so your potted plants sit inside it.
Does the 41 cm tub change the height?
Yes. The deep tub needs the full-length legs, so the castors go underneath and the box sits about 13 cm higher, at about 63 cm to the top. The 23 and 35 cm tubs stay at 50 cm.
Don't need wheels? See the planter box on legs. Growing climbers? Try the planter box with a trellis and wheels.

What do I fill it with?
Quality potting mix straight into the tub. No base layers or crushed rock needed. Capacity: 23cm Depth = 110 litres, 35cm Depth = 220 litres, 41cm Depth 270 litres. In our SEQ delivery area we can even deliver it filled and ready to plant: add the Potting Mix Fill service. Full step-by-step: how to fill your raised garden bed.
How deep should your garden bed be?
23 cm is the budget pick, ideal for herbs, flowers, lettuce and other shallow-rooted plants (it dries out quickest, so it likes part shade or regular watering). 35 cm is the sweet spot most customers choose: it handles tomatoes, capsicums and most veggies while holding moisture well. 41 cm suits root veg like carrots and potatoes, plus potted citrus. It holds moisture best and is the heaviest when full.
Can I move it once it’s set up?
Yes. It rolls on heavy-duty outdoor castors (280 kg combined capacity, 400 kg on the 41 cm-deep LARGE): one fixed pair, one 360° swivel pair with brakes. Best on hard, flat surfaces like decks, pavers and concrete.
Will my deck or balcony get wet underneath?
The tub has drainage holes in the base, so water drains out underneath. On a deck or balcony, add the Drainage Capture kit: it channels overflow away or straight into a watering can.
Will the timber rot or attract termites?
It’s arsenic-free MCA treated hoop pine, built to resist both. If it’s going on grass or bare ground, we recommend a paver or our protective feet under each leg to break the moisture and termite highway. Full guide: Care & Maintenance.
How often will I need to water?
Shallower tubs (23 cm) dry out faster in full sun; 35–41 cm hold moisture longer. The drip watering kit with timer makes it set-and-forget.
