The kitchen-door bed, shipped flat to anywhere in Australia.
Light and genuinely movable at this compact size, it’s easy to lift to a sunnier spot as the seasons change — or add a set of wheels to make it fully portable.
An 81 cm waist-high bed that lives by the back door: herbs, chillies and salad greens at 80 cm, picked standing up on the way past. Compact enough for decks, patios and courtyards where the big beds won’t go.
The kit comes about 80% pre-assembled — panels pre-fitted, bolt holes pre-drilled so everything lines up first try. The bits and a spanner come in our tools pack. Bring your own power drill and you’re done in roughly half an hour.
Potting mix goes straight into the recycled plastic tub: same-day planting, dry timber, long life.
Queensland-made and delivered Australia-wide. Choose a tub depth above — dinner’s getting closer.

What do I fill it with?
Quality potting mix straight into the tub. No base layers or crushed rock needed. Capacity: 23cm Depth = 55 litres, 35cm Depth = 110 litres, 41cm Depth 135 litres. Full step-by-step: how to fill your raised garden bed.
How deep should your garden bed be?
23 cm is the budget pick, ideal for herbs, flowers, lettuce and other shallow-rooted plants (it dries out quickest, so it likes part shade or regular watering). 35 cm is the sweet spot most customers choose: it handles tomatoes, capsicums and most veggies while holding moisture well. 41 cm suits root veg like carrots and potatoes, plus potted citrus. It holds moisture best and is the heaviest when full.
Can I move it once it’s set up?
Empty, it’s an easy two-person lift. If you’ll want to chase the sun through the seasons, the wheels version rolls on braked castors: switch to it under “Choose a variation” above.
Will my deck or balcony get wet underneath?
The tub has drainage holes in the base, so water drains out underneath. On a deck or balcony, add the Drainage Capture kit: it channels overflow away or straight into a watering can.
Will the timber rot or attract termites?
It’s arsenic-free MCA treated hoop pine, built to resist both. If it’s going on grass or bare ground, we recommend a paver or our protective feet under each leg to break the moisture and termite highway. Full guide: Care & Maintenance.
How often will I need to water?
Shallower tubs (23 cm) dry out faster in full sun; 35–41 cm hold moisture longer. The drip watering kit with timer makes it set-and-forget.
How hard is the assembly?
Kits arrive around 80% pre-assembled. Most people are done in about 30 minutes. Bring your own drill and a mallet; every screw and bolt is in the box, plus our tools pack with the bits and a 13mm spanner. Step-by-step Assembly Guides are here, full details in Assembly & Tools below, and we’re happy to talk you through it on the phone any time.
Garden Bed Kit Assembly Made Easy
Your kit turns up about 80% built. We do as much as we can in the shed and still pack it flat, so you’re bolting together a few big pieces, not hundreds of bits. If you’ve used a drill before, you’ll be right.
Quick Assembly Times
- Basic garden bed kit assembly: 30 minutes
- Adding castors: +15 minutes

What to BYO
